Rates are negotiable, and can be on a project, retainer, daily, or hourly basis. Startup advising can often be arranged via equity compensation. I offer discounted rates for non-profits.

Executive Coaching
I believe it’s important for leaders to be able to mine their deep selves to locate sources of inspiration and power. I work with them to align that strength to their larger narrative. We then produce thought leadership that scales a business or organization.
In one example, I worked with a C-suite executive from a Silicon Valley tech giant to help tell his story. He was a McKinsey consultant and Princeton PhD in federal prison for two years. But he was innocent. His story is a window into how we can remake the banking system to be more equitable for all.
Op-ed & Storytelling Coaching
I take on both individuals and organizations as writing consulting clients, helping cast their visions into the world. Generation Patient, a health advocacy organization for young adults, brought me in to coach their policy fellows on how to write and pitch opinion pieces to news outlets.
Teaching
Through the National Association of Science Writers, I received grant funding to co-teach a course on “Democratizing Science Writing” for professional science writers.
I have worked as a teaching assistant for “Policy Entrepreneurship” and “Engaging the Media” at the Harvard Kennedy School. And I have designed a syllabus for a new upper-level science communication course at Georgia State University.
Startup Advising
I advise startups in the media and healthcare spaces, usually in exchange for a small equity investment. One example is Rolli, an award-winning Newsroom as a Service® platform redefining how journalists and communications professionals access trusted information in the age of AI.
White Papers
White papers and policy memos are essential for organizations, movements, and coalitions that want to make the ideals a reality, especially when navigating Capitol Hill or federal agencies.
I’ve written proposals for new NIH offices via the Federation of American Scientists and Solve ME Initiative. And I’ve called for the renewal of Public Health AmeriCorps through Next 100. I’m eager to work with other groups with similar ambitions.
Content Writing & Editorial Strategy
SleepHealth.org engaged me in a long-term project to draft web content that was scientifically informed and patient-centered.
Beyond just writing articles, however, I want to challenge you and your organization to build a coherent editorial strategy across multiple platforms. Once we do that, I’m happy to lead that team, utilizing many of the techniques I learned at the CNN World Headquarters.
